Lavinia graduated from Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio in Madrid, Spain, in 2020 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She began her career in Italy with a rotational internship at Equivet Roma Hospital before moving to the United States to join Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky. There, she completed both a surgery internship and an internal medicine fellowship under board-certified specialists, gaining extensive experience in critical care, neonatology, ultrasonography, and the management of complex medical and surgical cases.
She later returned to Europe as a co-owner and resident veterinarian at her family’s stud in Italy, Centro Equino Arcadia, where she focused on stud medicine, equine reproduction, neonatology, and the preparation of young horses for major European sales.
Lavinia has been developing a strong international profile, having worked across Europe, the United States, and Australia. She has completed multiple breeding seasons in Australia, including work in equine reproduction at Carmyle Veterinary Services in New South Wales, and has also spent two seasons at Utrecht University as a Locum Veterinarian and Docent in the Equine Reproduction Department, working and training alongside ACT and ECAR diplomates and residents.
Lavinia is currently undertaking an ECAR (European College of Animal Reproduction) Residency — a postgraduate training programme leading to board certification as a specialist in equine reproduction. She holds registration with the NSW Veterinary Practitioners Board and is actively engaged in the international equine veterinary community, with a strong commitment to continuing professional development. She regularly participates in international congresses, seminars, and advanced training programmes, and contributes to the training and mentorship of veterinary students and early-career veterinarians. Her clinical interests lie in equine reproduction, advanced reproductive technologies including OPU and ICSI, and neonatology.
