Scone Equine Hospital’s Niamh Collins, Specialist in Equine Medicine has been awarded the 2014 EVA Equine Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Award.

Niamh received the award for her presentation (Severe hyponatraemia on admission in critically ill foals) at the 2014 Bain Fallon Memorial Lectures, Gold Coast. The presentation was based on the results of a large study performed at Scone Equine Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit with co-authors Jane Axon, Joan Carrick, Catherine Russell, Penny Dow and Jon Palmer. Niamh is a registered specialist in Equine Medicine and she joined Scone Equine Hospital in 2008. Her main interests are in neonatology, critical care and cardiology.
