Employment

Ongoing recruitment

The strength of Scone Equine Hospital is sustained by the technical knowledge of the people in our practice and the relationships they develop with our clients and the people we work with.

Scone Equine Hospital aims to recruit and develop staff with a positive attitude to equine veterinary practice and with specialised knowledge and skills suited to the requirements of their role in the practice.

Scone Equine Hospital offers many employment opportunities in all areas of our Veterinary practice. Our recruitment program includes both permanent and seasonal roles.

Scone Equine Hospital has a fully equipped laboratory, providing haematology, biochemistry, microbiology and other required tests to support the practice. During the breeding season we employ an additional qualified scientific/technical officer, as well as additional clerical and support staff.

Qualified and experienced nursing staff are always in high demand and are required for our surgery. Nurses, nursing assistants and stablehands are also required to cope with the increased demand on the Intensive Care Unit.

Equine reproductive veterinarians complement our veterinary teams based at our Denman and Scone practices. A number of our veterinarians also reside on some of the larger stud farms in the Hunter and Widden valleys. We often employ professional staff from the northern hemisphere to assist during the stud season.

Employment opportunities will be advertised in Australia in the local media as well as Sydney and Newcastle newspapers. Professional positions are also advertised through Vetlink and professional journals.
