Petagay qualified from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh in 1993. She worked in a mixed practice in the UK and then moved to Jamaica to fulfill scholarship obligations to the Jamaica Racing Commission. Petagay began working with small animals exclusively in 1996.
She has a special interest in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery and completed a University of Sydney Post Graduate Foundation course on this subject in 2002. Petagay will be undertaking the University of Sydney Post Graduate Foundation diagnostic medicine course in 2007.
The SEH has five Specialists in Equine Medicine or Surgery and a number of highly experienced senior veterinarians. Their skills and experiences cover all disciplines of equine veterinary science.

Scone Equine Hospital aims to provide dedicated expert care, service and professional leadership in equine veterinary practice. We provide practical clinical training for 30-40 veterinary students and veterinarians and up to 60 veterinary nurses each year.
When Holbrook Thoroughbreds’ mare Girl in a Storm needed emergency
surgery, Julie Harris put her into the care of an experienced team at
Scone Equine Hospital. Surgery, in any situation carries risk but with
heavily pregnant Girl in a Storm, it was complex and urgent.
